Cap Coast Marine & Mechanical was founded by Josh in 2016 although don’t be fooled, he has spent most of his life in and around boats, cars, and other mechanical machinery. His working life has been spent in the mechanical industry trade where his career began with Ford Motor Company doing his mechanical apprenticeship.
Josh has learned his trade from hands-on practical experience, something you can’t buy from textbooks or manuals. He helped his father on the family property in Tasmania which is where his passion for marine vessels first began.
Josh began working on wooden boats in Franklin, Tasmania and he then began working on commercial vessels at the Hobart Princess Wharf. By that stage, the passion for repairing, servicing, and working on boats had well and truly bitten.
From early beginnings
Josh decided to expand his learnings and he picked up knowledge and experience working on diesel engines as well as electrical components. He quickly created the ability to service everything needed for recreational or commercial boat owners to get their craft back on the water quickly and efficiently.
Cap Coast Marine and Mechanical in Yeppoon was opened in 2016 and Josh quickly forged his reputation in the local area as one of the best local businesses to service or maintain boats. He has achieved this with a laser-like focus on customer service, only using high-quality parts and ensuring every piece of work is completed to an extremely high standard.
They had been approved as an authorised trade and highly recommended within Keppel Bay Marina since the beginning.
They became the Yanmar Authorised dealer for Central Queensland in 2018 and recently became the Volvo Penta Authorised dealer for Yeppoon in 2021.
Their focus and knowledge for working on inboard engines is second to none and a large number of clients take their boats from NSW or other locations to have them serviced by Josh.
